When can I become a dependent of employee health insurance at work?

Individuals whose annual income is less than 1.3 million yen (less than 1.8 million yen for persons aged 60 and over or disabled persons) and earning a living from the income of policy holder of health insurance at work are generally recognized as dependents (the annual income standards may change, so please check with your employee health insurance representative for details.)
If you are a dependent of employee health insurance (employee health insurance outside of the National Health Insurance) at work, please apply for a dependent of employee health insurance at work.
If the application is approved and the person who has taken out National Health Insurance becomes a dependent of employee health insurance other than National Health Insurance.
- National Health Insurance Card
- Workplace health insurance card (for those who have been certified as dependents)
Please bring it with you and report it to Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section (27th floor on the second floor).
