※As of July 1, 2024, "Special Child Raising Allowance Certificate" cannot be used as identification documents (Applicable: P19 "9(4) Submission of My Number"). Please refer to the replacement page (PDF: 236KB).

• If you are employed, please obtain certification from the company.
• Please tell the person in charge of the company so that you must confirm and create a work certificate to be submitted to Yokohama City.

<Priority handling of children such as nursery teachers＞
In Yokohama City, we are promoting the development of childcare facilities and businesses as a measure for waiting-list children, and securing childcare personnel has become an urgent issue.
Since it is considered that it is difficult for children such as nursery teachers to use nursery schools, etc., to secure childcare human resources, priority is given to children such as nursery teachers working at nursery schools in Yokohama City. We have introduced the handling, and the handling will be expanded as follows from the application for use in April 2024.

• Priority handling to raise two ranks
• Review the requirements for the number of days and hours of working in the nursery teacher rank (A)
• Nursery teachers living outside the city will be treated in the same way as those living in the city (even in the case of application in April, it will be subject to primary use adjustment (*))
  ※When applying for a primary application, be sure to state that you are eligible for the primary application of Yokohama City when applying to the municipality where you currently live.

<Changes in working conditions after entering a nursery school, etc.>
If you apply priority treatment and enter a nursery school, etc., we ask that you continue to work at a nursery school in the city during the period of use such as a nursery school for your child. . If there is a change in the working situation, be sure to notify us as follows.

• Those who live in the city
  Please submit certification change application to ward office Children and Families Support Division of ward where nursery schools are using are located.
• Those who live outside the city
  Please notify the ward office Children and Families Support Division of the ward where the nursery school you are using is located using the employment certificate (*) that shows the change in the working situation.
  ※If you have not re-employed after retiring from a nursery school, please contact the ward office Children and Families Support Division of the ward where the nursery school you are using is located.

When applying for childcare leave benefits, etc., you may need "documents proving that you could not enter a nursery school".
In Yokohama-shi, we apply for the use of nursery schools and issue "reservation letter of advice" to person who was put on hold. If you have received the "Reservation Notice" and need proof that it is still on hold, you will be issued a separate "Reservation Certificate". If you wish, please submit a “Pending Certificate Grant Application” to the ward office Children and Families Support Division in your ward.
