Basic policy on rebuilding Yokohama municipal elementary and junior high school facilities (developed in May 2017)

In 2000, Yokohama City formulated the “Life Extension of Public Facilities-Basic Policy-” and aims to extend the service life of public facilities by properly maintaining and managing public facilities.
As a policy, school facilities will be used up to 70 years old.
For this reason, the city has not rebuilt school facilities for more than 10 years, but in old school facilities, 70 years have begun to appear as a reality in the near future.
It was a time when we had to start rebuilding concretely.
Based on these backgrounds, the Board of Education has formulated the “Basic Policy on Rebuilding of Yokohama Municipal Elementary and Junior High School Facilities” to ensure the efficiency of school facilities.
We will work to ensure the safety and security of our students in elementary school studenｔ and improve the educational environment.
