Basic policy of standard menu
Based on the goals set by the School Lunch Act and the goals of guidance on food, the menu of Yokohama City is prepared based on the following viewpoints, in addition to the school lunch implementation standards set by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
What the Yokohama City School Lunch Standard Menu Aims
・In addition to ensuring nutrition, we incorporate the tastes of elementary school student, the uniqueness of Yokohama, Japanese food culture and traditional food.
・We promote the utilization of local products including vegetables produced in the city.
・We strive to use seasonal foods so that you can feel the sense of the season.
・Consideration is given to the number of cooked rice and the use of fish, vegetables, beans, seaweed, etc. so that we can promote Japanese-style eating habits, reduce fat intake, and secure nutrients such as dietary fiber and iron that tend to be insufficient. .
