Recruitment of Yokohama City High School Scholarship [benefit-type Scholarship] (FY2025)

This is a system that provides high school students with a scholarship of 60,000 yen per year (5,000 yen per month). If you are hired, you do not need to return the scholarship you receive.
About recruitment of Yokohama-shi high school scholarship student in 2025
For details of the application, please refer to the following application guidelines.

※Please note that when applying on paper, the scholarship application will be submitted to City of Yokohama, Board of Education Secretariat instead of high school.
Those who have been employed as scholarship students before 2024 will be paid up to the regular period of study, so there is no need to apply again.

3 Eligibility
Those who fall under all of the following 1 to 4
- Parents living in Yokohama City
- Those who are in high school and have good manners
- High schools include "high schools of special needs schools" and "secondary courses of secondary schools".
- The high school where the student attends does not matter whether it is in Yokohama city or outside the city, national public or private.
- Those whose academic performance is 3.50 or more in a five-step evaluation average of all subjects and subjects taken in the previous fiscal year.
- Those who have a academic record of less than 3.50 will not be accepted.
- In the case of new first-year students, the grades of all subjects taken at the end of the third year of junior high school.
- This is not a grade at the end of the school year, but a grade at the end of the school year.
- Junior high schools include the middle school of special needs schools, the first half of secondary schools, and the second half of compulsory education School.
- The average rating should be rounded to the third decimal place (3.495 or more corresponds to 3.50 or more, but 3.494 or less is 3.49 and will not be adopted).
- Those who have difficulty studying at high school due to financial reasons
- Essay: A family of 4 people whose household income is about 5 million yen
- Those who have income exceeding the above amount may also be hired. In the case of a large number of applicants, they will be hired from those with severe living conditions.
4 Submission method and deadline of application documents
- Application
- Documents to be submitted: ①Please submit a copy of the scholarship student application form, (2) bank transfer application form, (3) social security receipt certificate, (4) facility entrance certificate or commission measure certificate, (5) disability certificate (paper or card) to City of Yokohama, Board of Education Secretariat.
- Online
- Please register as an individual in "Yokohama-shi electronic application, report system" (outside site). If you have already registered, you do not need to register again. Don't forget your registered email address and password.

- If you are hired as a Yokohama High School Scholarship student, the scholarship will be transferred from Motoichi to an account in the name of the student. If you want to transfer to an account in a name other than the student for unavoidable reasons, you need to submit an account transfer payment application form (PDF: 183KB). Be sure to seal the student himself and submit it by mail to the address below (Example of bank transfer payment application form entry (PDF: 298KB)).

- The deadline for submission is Friday, May 9, 2025 (must arrive). Please submit a copy of the recommendation request form and the scholarship application form to the high school as soon as possible.
- Submission of income documents
- Person submitting "documents that show the situation such as income of family having the same livelihood" (only documents about municipal tax, prefectural tax, forest environmental tax in 2025), please submit to high school in paper.
- The deadline for submission is until the date specified by the high school. The deadline for submission from high school to City of Yokohama, Board of Education Secretariat is Friday, June 20, 2025 (must arrive).
5 Application Guidelines

- It is assumed that the complete PDF data such as application guidelines will be printed on both sides in A4 size. The back side of 5 forms (pages 5 to 14) is blank.
- When filling in, do not use pencils, mechanical pencils, eraseable ballpoint pens, correction tapes, correction fluids, etc. If you want to correct an error, draw a double line and rewrite it nearby. No correction mark is required.
- A set of application guidelines will also be distributed at each ward office Ward Administration Promotion Division Public Relations Section and City Hall Citizen Information Center.
6 Others
- The Yokohama City High School Scholarship can be paid together with high school enrollment support funds and high school student scholarship benefits. It is possible to co-payment with other scholarships, but please make sure that other systems you are going to receive co-payment can be co-payment.
- When submitting documents that show the status of income, etc. of family members who have the same livelihood, fill in the school name, applicant name, and document name on the envelope surface and tell them not to open it to high school Please submit.
- In principle, this scholarship does not need to be refunded. However, if you lose your scholarship qualification due to withdrawal or relocation of a guardian outside Yokohama City, you will be refunded the amount from the month following the event.
- The implementation of the 2025 Yokohama High School Scholarship Program is subject to suspension of the 2025 budget being voted on in Yokohama City Council.

For those who were selected as Yokohama City High School Scholarship Students in 2024
- If you are a Yokohama City High School Scholarship student in 2024 and are still enrolled in a high school in 2025, you will continue to be employed as a scholarship student until the regular training period (the year you originally graduate). Therefore, there is no need to submit the application documents again.
- For those who plan to continue hiring, we plan to contact the high school where we are currently enrolled from Yokohama City around June 2025.
- Scholarships will be provided to continue hires at the same time as new hires.
- If you decline a Yokohama City High School scholarship student and wish to receive the scholarship again, please apply again based on the 2025 application guidelines.
- If you have been hired as a Yokohama City High School Scholarship Student in 2024 and there is a change in the status of you or your guardian (change in Address, transfer, withdrawal, etc.), please contact the high school and submit a transfer notice.
- You can apply for a transfer notification online or by mail, but if you want to change the transfer destination to an account other than the student's name, print out and fill out the “Bank Transfer Payment Application Form” and deliver it to the destination described in 4 above. Please mail it in a form where the record remains.
