When you receive a reminder or notice

Last updated on June 7, 2022.

The city tax has a deadline set for each tax item.
If the city tax is not paid even after the deadline, a "dunning letter" will be sent.
If payment cannot be confirmed thereafter, a "notice letter" will be sent.

We ask that you pay the tax as soon as you receive the "Dunning Notice" or "Notice".

If you continue to pay after sending the "Dunning Notice" or "Notice", "Delinquency Disposal" will be executed.

About "Dunning letter" and "notice letter"

  • According to the Local Tax Law, the reminder letter should be issued within 20 days after the deadline, but in Yokohama City, the Yokohama City Tax Ordinance states that "If the mayor deems it particularly necessary, within 30 days after the deadline. Can be issued. "
  • The dunning letter is a document that is stipulated to be sent in the Local Tax Law and the Yokohama City Tax Ordinance.
