What is a specific small motorized bicycle (electric kickboard, etc.)?
With the enforcement of the revised Road Traffic Law, electric kickboards that meet the following standards will be classified as specific small motorized bicycles from July 1, 2023.
- The rated output of the prime mover must be 0.6 kilowatts or less
- Must be 1.9 meters or less in length and 0.6 meters or less in width
- Maximum speed must be 20 kilometers per hour or less
Person who owns specific small motor bike needs to receive special taxation sign (license plate). The application procedure is the same as the conventional motorized bicycle acquisition procedure.
