Name: Asainagiri-dori
Region: (Yokohama City side) Of Yokohama City Road Rokuura No. 1, the road floor from the border with Kamakura City to 330m point, and the range of 20m on both sides.
(Kamakura City side) Of Kamakura City Route 101, the road floor up to about 1 km from the border with Yokohama City and the range of 5 to 20 m on both sides.

According to records in the literature, a meeting to open a road between Kamakura and Rokuura was established on November 30, 1240, Kamakura shogunate's historical book, "Azuma Kagami," and Yasutoki Hojo, the third generation of time, visited himself. The excavation work was started on April 5, the following year. Mutsuratsu is a natural good port that prevents wind and wandering, and Hojo used it as an outer port in Kamakura due to the excavation of Kiridoshi. In Thailand, he gave this important land to his younger brother, Minoru Hojo, Thailand. In fact, in Thailand, he set up a museum in this area, and since then, he has been named Kanazawa for four generations, including Akito, Sadaaki, Sadamasa (Sadayuki). Somyoji and Kanazawabunko were founded and developed. Rokuurazu prospered as a key point of maritime traffic even after the death of Hojo, and in the early modern era, the scenery near the cove was praised as the eight views of Kanazawa, and many literary ink visitors visited here.
Kiridoshi is an important transportation route connecting Kamakura and Rokuura, and salt produced in Rokuura and Kamariya was also transported to Kamakura through Kiridoshi. It is said that Shiotan Jizo, which was introduced to Kosokuji Temple in the 12th place in Kamakura, was originally along the Kanazawa Kaido, and tells the thriving traffic of merchants. In the Edo period, various Kamakura guide illustrations include "Kanazawa Doritoshi", "Asaina Kiridoshi", "Toogezaka Kiridoshi / Kanazawa Road". An old photo of the first half of the Meiji era shows a teahouse on the top of Kiridoshi, and a teahouse is also introduced in "Kamakura Taikan" (1902) by Zenjiro Sato. Throughout the Edo period, the villagers at the foot of the Edo period repeated road contracts, and several Peace pagoda remained near the entrance of Kiridoshi.
Kiridoshi was used as a prefectural road until the opening of the Kanazawa-Kamakura Line, which bypassed Kiridoshi in 1956 (1956), but since the development around the area did not cut through and destroyed the road, it was relatively good. I keep it.
In 1969 (1969), it was designated as a national historic site because it is a valuable historical site that shows the status of communication between the terrain of Kamakura and the outside as one of the so-called "Kamakura Shichiguchi", and then Kamakura city area In 2008 (2008), the surrounding area of Kiridoshi was additionally designated in conjunction with the additional designation.
