Ofuna Station North Gate Station Building Improvement Project
With the opening of this Kasama Exit, the time required between the station and the north exit bus terminal will be reduced, and the function as a traffic node at Ofuna Station will be further enhanced. In addition, by making the station barrier-free, the elderly and the disabled can use it with peace of mind.
The daily number of passengers at JR Ofuna Station is about 190,000, the third largest in the city among JR stations. Prior to the opening of Kasama Exit, there was only one ticket gate on the Kamakura city area side, and it was necessary to walk about 300m on a narrow road from the north exit bus terminal on the Yokohama city area side to the station ticket gate. Ensuring safety was an issue.
In response to strong requests from local residents and others, Yokohama City agreed to develop the north exit of JR Ofuna Station in December 2002, and started construction in February 2016. After that, it started using it in February 2006.
Thank you very much for the understanding and cooperation of citizens and related organizations. .
