Facility tour

Nambu Wastewater Treatment Plant accepts applications for facility tours to citizens, elementary, junior high and high school students, university students, companies and national governments, local governments and related organizations.
※However, if you include trainees from overseas, please contact Sewerage and Rivers Bureau Management Promotion Division.

• From 9:00 to 17:00 from Monday to Friday (excluding weekends, holidays, and New Year's holidays (December 29 to January 3))
• About 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours

Please note that we may not be able to meet your request due to construction or business reasons.

The staff will explain the role of the sewer, the sewer in Yokohama, and the outline of the Nambu Wastewater Treatment Plant.
In addition, we will explain the structure of sewers and water reclamation centers in the DVD "Kaba no Dai-chan's Sewer Class" of the Sewerage and Rivers Bureau character in Yokohama City.

We will explain how the water is getting clean at the Water Reclamation Center while looking at the water level of each process that has actually been sampled from the water treatment facility. In addition, observe the state of microorganisms that are active in water treatment with a microscope.

In the tour of the facility, the staff will guide and explain how the sewage enters the water reclamation center step by step, and see it while going around the facility. You can also visit the central operation room, the heart of the water reclamation center, which operates 24 hours a day.
