"Park and Green Yokohama 150 Years"

In Yokohama, many initiatives related to greenery and parks have been carried out ahead of the whole country.
Greenery and parks have played an important role as one of the elements of the city, in response to social demands and challenges, such as the opening of Yamate Park, the first Western-style park in Japan, positioning farmland as a valuable open space in the city from early on, and implementing measures integrated with parks and other facilities. The results of these efforts have led to the appeal of Yokohama, which is a place for citizens to relax, the farmland that supports the locally grown and consumed, and the greenery and flowers that are attractive to the local community.
"Park and Midori Yokohama 150 Years" introduces such parks and green steps in Yokohama.
