What is a training program?

This program is intended for businesses and new founders who wish to conduct business related to locally grown and consumed.

  • We are looking for a sustainable locally grown and consumed business plan.
  • We will hold a “training course” to strengthen the applied business plan and improve feasibility.
  • A total of five courses will enhance the feasibility of the business plan and support the actual implementation of the business.
  • At the selection round-table conference held after the course, you will be asked to announce your business plan in a presentation format.
  • After assessing the content of the presentation at the selection round-table conference, select a business plan to be subsidized.

Overview of the Training Courses in FY2024

Capacity

About 10 people
In the case of a large number of applicants, screening will be conducted by document screening.

Venue

・The 1st, 2nd and 4th sessions were online lectures by ZOOM. You can easily take the course from a PC, smartphone, or tablet.
・The 3rd and 5th round-table conference was held on the 13th floor of the Kanagawa Small and Medium Enterprise Center Building (5-80 Onoecho, Naka-ku, Yokohama).

Training course schedule

・As for the details of course contents, please see page 3 of business introduction leaflet (PDF: 3,254KB).
・After the selection round-table conference, businesses selected as targets of the “subsidy program” in 2024 will be able to receive some subsidies for the expenses required for the start of the business by performing the procedure for applying for a subsidy.

Requirements for businesses that can take training courses

All of the following conditions shall be satisfied.

  1. Those who are willing to engage in locally grown and consumed business and can participate in all training courses and selection round-table conferences.
  2. Small and medium-sized enterprises, non-profit corporations and new founders who have offices in the city and are developing activities in the city or are starting activities in the future.
  3. Those who voluntarily engage in PR of agricultural and livestock products in Yokohama and businesses that contribute to locally grown and consumed.
  4. Those who are expected to continue working in the next fiscal year or later.
  5. Those who have not delinquent city tax.

Requirements for Eligible Business Plans

It shall fall under any of the following:

  1. Those that contribute to the expansion of consumption of agricultural and livestock products produced in the city
  2. Actively providing agricultural and livestock products from the city to consumers
  3. Those that increase added value, such as the development of processed products utilizing agricultural and livestock products produced in the city.
  4. Other contributions to locally grown and consumed in the city

About selection round-table conference

At the selection round-table conference held after the end of the training course (5 times in total), you will be asked to present your business plan in a presentation format in front of experts in agriculture, academic, financial, etc.
We will evaluate the contents of the presentation and the Q&A session.
After that, the recipient of the program (subsidized project) will be selected.
Evaluations are based on the degree of contribution to locally grown and consumed, business feasibility, and innovation.
