International Strategic Comprehensive Special Zone

In September 2011, the Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture, the Mayor of Yokohama, and Mayor Kawasaki jointly invited the Prime Minister for International Strategic Comprehensive Special Zones in order to promote the formation of an international competition base in the field of life innovation in the Keihin coastal area, and was designated in December of the same year.

We aim to achieve this goal in "Development and manufacture of innovative pharmaceuticals and medical devices and creation of health-related industries by global companies in response to the age of personalized and preventive medicine," and are promoting initiatives aimed at economic growth and the development of the life innovation industry while contributing to solving international issues.

• Convention functions, etc., which serve as a base for dissemination of research results and business exchange.

Utilizing a variety of assets existing in the Keihin coastal area, we will promote pioneering initiatives aimed at realizing the goal of "developing and manufacturing innovative pharmaceuticals and medical devices and creating health-related industries in response to the age of personalized and preventive medicine."
