Overview of the Plant
The state-of-the-art factory in Yokohama, which started operation in 2001, incinerates approximately 800 tons of garbage a day (when two furnaces are operated) in a safe and sanitary manner.
The Kanazawa Plant incinerates household waste from households in Kanazawa Ward, Isogo Ward, Sakae Ward and Konan Ward, as well as some household waste from other wards, as well as business-related general waste discharged from offices and factories.
Waste heat generated by incineration of garbage is collected by a boiler, used effectively in a heated pool, and power is generated by a steam turbine. The generated electricity is used in the factory and supplied to nearby Nambu Sludge Treatment Plant and Linets Kanazawa. In addition, the surplus is sold to power companies.
