Since 2012, Yokohama City has been working to create sustainable and attractive suburban areas in cooperation with local residents, companies, UR City Organizations, universities, etc. in four suburban residential areas, promoting regional exchange, guiding diverse housing and living convenience and working functions, area management, SDGs, decarbonization initiatives, and supporting community-based initiatives.
In the area along the Sotetsu Izumino Line, the Sotetsu Group and Yokohama City collaborated with universities and local communities to promote environmentally friendly town development for various generations in suburban residential areas. (FutureCityProject = FCP) ".

In 2013, Sotetsu Holdings Inc. and Yokohama City signed an "Agreement on the Promotion of Next Generation Town Development along the Sotetsu Izumino Line" in order to promote new town development in collaboration with companies, governments, universities, citizens and local organizations. We concluded and made the most of local resources and charm, and promoted initiatives for town development that everyone longed for to live.
In 2016, Sotetsu Holdings Inc., Yokohama City, Yokohama National University, and Ferris Jogakuin University have concluded a "Four-Participation Memorandum of Understanding on Promotion of Next Generation Town Development along the Sotetsu Izumino Line".
In promoting new town development, in addition to the cooperation between Yokohama City and the Sotetsu Group, in cooperation with universities and local residents, a project to promote the next generation of town development = (Future City Project = FCP) will be launched to maximize local resources and attractiveness. By making the best use and further creation, we will create a more loved "Mirai along the Sotetsu Izumino Line".
