The first breakfast meeting in 2024

Last updated on March 25, 2025.

Held on Friday, January 24, 2025

The Midori Ward "Fureai Talk" is held in which groups working in Midori Ward and Mayor Midori exchange opinions on the activities and achievements and issues obtained through these activities.

On January 24, 2025, we talked to the members of the breakfast eating party.

Overview of Breakfast Eating Party

Since 2022, we have been providing breakfast to children in the Higashi Hongo area with the cooperation of local people, such as donating food and cooking. In addition to living healthy, we work not only with the purpose of creating a place for children and watching over.

Exchange of opinions

  • Mr. Takabayashi (Representative)

I started with learning support for children. I sometimes offered snacks and meals during my learning support, but when I was forced to cancel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I thought, "Is that children's meals okay?" In addition, there was a voice from elementary and junior high school teachers saying that many children do not eat breakfast, and we started a breakfast eating party. .
The purpose of this meeting is not only to provide breakfast, but also to let them know that there are adults who can rely on besides their parents. We hope that there is at least one place in the community where SOS can be issued outside of home, and we are working as part of creating a place for children. .

  • Mr. Kojima (Deputy Representative)
I'm glad to hear that the children who came to the breakfast party reported to the principal of the elementary school saying, "I've eaten breakfast today!" .
Recently, elderly people are often focused, but there is still little support for children. Even in such a situation, I hope that this association will be one of the places for children.

  • Mr. Keda
Being able to say hello is the first step toward being accepted by society. If I can do that, I think I can live independently and firmly, so at least I can do it with only greetings, and I am in contact with the children, hoping that I will leave here.
I also heard from an elementary and junior high school teacher that a calm child in the school started eating breakfast and was able to spend a calm day. . I hope that this meeting will not only fill the children's stomach, but also become a place where children can grow up.

  • Mr. Sasaki
When I met the children who came to the breakfast party in town, they came to say hello. I'm in a position to provide breakfast, but I'm getting help from my children.
It is rewarding to be able to feel the changes of children little by little, such as saying "I have you."

  • Mr. Onozuka, Mr. Yamashita
I'm in charge of cooking in the kitchen, but I'm glad if the children say "feast". I would like to increase my involvement with children while cooperating as volunteers. .

  • Director General
I don't think you need to ask about local issues first on-site. While talking with the local people, you may get some wisdom, and if you have any difficult issues, you can discuss alternatives. However, if you think "even if you talk to the government office", there is no future. That's why I think it is the duty of the ward office to keep an atmosphere where you can talk about such things on a regular basis.
This time, it was a very meaningful time to ask about the significance of activities to create a place for children and the thoughts of those who are active. .
