City of Yokohama, Civic Affairs Bureau General Affairs Department Housing Indication Section (currently Civic Affairs Bureau Service Section) published in December 1996, the name of Yokohama. It has been more than 10 years since the issuance, and there are some parts that do not fit the current situation, but due to copyright, the text is the one at the time of publication. A town newly established from a part of Nagatsuda-cho with the enforcement of the land readjustment project in 1973. In the old days, it was called Nagatsuda-mura, Tsuzuki-gun. When the municipal system was enforced in 1889, it merged with Onda-mura and Nara-mura to form Tana-mura Oaza Nagatsuta, and became Nagatsutacho when transferred to Yokohama City in 1939. The name of the town is "Ibukino" at the request of the local area because there were many trees in this area, and many of the evergreen Takagi" Ibuki "of the cypress family were planted. The Onda River flows through the northeast side, the Yokohama Line passes through the center, and National Route 246 runs on the northwest side.

Origin of place name

Transferred from the former Kohoku Ward following the reorganization of administrative districts on October 1, 1969. In the old days, it was called Nagatsuda-mura, Tsuzuki-gun, and when the municipal system was enforced in 1889, it merged with Onda-mura and Nara-mura to form Tana-mura Oaza Nagatsuta. The name of the town was the old village. Route 246 on the northwest side, the Tomei Expressway passes through the center, and there is the Yokohama Interchange. There are Tokyo Institute of Technology Graduate School, Nagatsuta housing complex, and Minami Tsuda housing complex in the town.
