Nishi Public Works Office maintains and repairs public sewerage facilities (pipelines) for treating rainwater and wastewater from households.

In addition, if you want to check the burial status of public sewerage facilities, you can view the drawings at Public Works Office or check the administrative map information system provided by Yokohama City.

When performing construction such as installation or renovation of private sewers in residential lands, and when performing construction work on public sewerage facilities (construction such as connecting pipes to sewer mains), please note that application procedures (confirmation and permission) are required to Public Works Office before starting each construction.

(1)Application for Confirmation of Drainage Equipment

Drainage facilities are facilities such as pipes that are provided to allow sewage (rainwater and sewage) generated on private land such as homes to flow into public sewers. Person who is going to install drainage system is obliged to connect to public sewer in principle, and confirms that the plan conforms to rule of laws and regulations about setting and structure such as drainage systems and the regulations of the regulations Must be obtained.

(2)Sewerage self-financing construction

It is construction about public sewer facility that person except public sewer manager receives approval of Yokohama-shi and performs at own expense (applicant burden).
Pipes (installation pipes) to connect from each home to public sewer mains are also public sewerage facilities, and self-financing construction applications are required when newly maintaining installation pipes in house construction. Also, please note that if you want to remove the existing mounting pipe, you will also need to apply for self-financing construction.

The permission of Public Works Office is required when draining spring water, miscellaneous drainage, construction drainage, etc. to public sewerage due to civil engineering and construction work. Similarly, when drilling near public sewers (such as drilling deeper than drains) requires prior permission from Public Works Office, so please contact Public Works Office once the construction plan is finalized.
