We held "food poisoning prevention campaign" in 2024!
On Monday, July 29, 2024, the Sakae Ward Food Sanitation Association and Health Sanitation Division Sakae Health and Welfare Center co-hosted a “food poisoning prevention campaign” in public hall, Yokohama City!

Touch-kun also visited the food poisoning prevention campaign!
I've come to the food poisoning prevention campaign! As soon as it started, a lot of people came in and it was a great excitement!
When I participated in the event, I first answered a questionnaire on food safety! Everyone answered seriously how they felt about food safety and food hygiene!
In addition, there was a corner where you can get an assortment of delicious vegetables when you win with rock-paper-scissors, and a corner where you can grab an interesting eraser! By the end of the campaign, it was so exciting that prizes would be out of stock!
I came to see a panel about typical food poisoning! Over the past few years, Anisakis has ranked first and Campylobacter has ranked second in Yokohama!
In particular, Anisakis is a food poisoning that can occur at home, and eating seafood parasitized by Anisakis causes severe abdominal pain! I'm scared....
Food poisoning due to Anisakis can be prevented by removing internal organs as soon as you buy fish, seeing them with your eyes, and freezing or heating at -20 ° C for more than 24 hours!
I watched it because there was an enlightenment video about food poisoning!
I sometimes bake meat at barbecues, homes, and restaurants, but eating raw meat can lead to Campylobacter food poisoning! In order not to cause food poisoning, it is important not to eat raw or half-life meat, to cook meat well to the center, and to wash and disinfect kitchen knives and cutting boards that cut meat immediately!
Don't hesitate to tell me when I'm yakiniku or barbecue! "Is that meat cooked properly?"
I tried to take a quiz on food hygiene! Every problem is written what you tend to do and what seems okay, but maybe there is a danger of food poisoning?...
It was such a problem that I tried! Can everyone answer all the questions correctly?
- All bacteria and viruses in hands and cooking utensils are killed if alcohol is disinfected. X or X?
- You can leave the side dishes you have made in the room with the pot. X or X?
- If it is provided at restaurants, etc., the menu of chicken that is not cooked inside is also safe. X or X?
(The answer is at the bottom of this page!)
A clown also appeared in the middle of the event! It was very easy to understand that he practiced and taught me the correct hand washing method according to the song! There were many people who imitated how to wash their hands even after the clown returned! When I go home, I will wash my hands thoroughly so that I don't have to leave Shiga!
They also performed a variety of other balloon performances! The balloon art of animals and flowers was very cute!
Finally, there was raffle where those who participated in the food hygiene quiz could participate! Prizes were only luxurious items such as eel kabayaki, sweets and seaweed assortment, gift certificates! Everyone who won the lottery was delighted to receive prizes and seemed happy.
The food poisoning prevention campaign is held at the same time every year! I'd like to see you again next year.
Column: Let's be careful at home! About "three principles of food poisoning prevention"
Food poisoning can occur not only in restaurants but also in ordinary households. In order to reduce food poisoning in the city to zero, it is important not only to hygiene management of restaurants, but also to keep and raise awareness of food poisoning prevention for each and every one of you.
When cooking at home every day, be aware of the "three principles of food poisoning prevention" and enjoy food safely!
①"Do not attach" food poisoning bacteria
- Wash your hands thoroughly with soap
- Cooking utensils are used properly with meat, seafood, vegetables, etc.
- After using cooking utensils, wash them with detergent and disinfect them with boiling water or chlorine bleach.
②"Do not increase food poisoning bacteria"
- Eat foods cooked at home and foods taken out at shops as soon as possible.
- Do not leave food at room temperature for a long time
- Foods that are prepared and eaten in several days are subdivided into containers and stored in refrigerators and freezers.
③"get off" food poisoning bacteria
- Heat the center of the ingredients at 75°C for at least 1 minute.

- Alcohol disinfection is effective for disinfection of COVID-19 and germs, but norovirus is not effective for alcohol disinfection. Norovirus is caused by bivalve and food handled by infected people. After thoroughly washing cooking utensils, disinfect them with sodium hypochlorite (chlorinated bleach) or boiling water. Also, be sure to wash your hands properly and thoroughly. (Do not use chlorinated chemicals to disinfect your fingers.)
- If stewed dishes such as curry and foods such as sozai are stored at room temperature (30-40 ° C) for a long time after cooking, food poisoning bacteria such as Welsh, Celeus, and Staphylococcus alia will explode. If you store food in a refrigerator or freezer, the growth of bacteria can be suppressed, but if you leave a large pot, it will take a long time for the whole food to be completely cooled, during which bacteria will grow. What you make and eat in several days should be subdivided into a container, stored in a refrigerator or freezer, and cooled as soon as possible.
- The chicken contains a lot of bacteria called Campylobacter. Campylobacter is a bacterium in the intestine of livestock, and develops diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, etc. 1-7 days after eating (average 2-3 days). Raw or underheated chicken dishes, such as "Torisashi", "Toriwasa" and "Takeyakitori", are the main causes foods. Campylobacter has been detected in about 40% of chickens distributed in Yokohama City (Results of Yokohama City Extracted Inspection from 2018 to 2014). Therefore, even chicken dishes served at restaurants are not always safe. Make sure that the fire is well cooked, and do not eat raw or undercooked chicken dishes.
