Sakae Ward Power Saving Challenge Seven
Last updated on November 22, 2023.
Power saving is one of the measures we can take to combat global warming.
When cooling and heating using electricity, the energy saving effect by adjusting the room temperature setting is higher in winter than in summer.
Lowering the room temperature setting when using heating equipment in winter will not only reduce CO2 emissions, but also effectively save electricity. Why don't you work together to save electricity that can be done at home?

Introducing a little bit "Warm Style Tips"
Warm style tips "Living"
Let's be aware of humidity and raise the perceived temperature
- If you stay in the same room for a long time, you will feel colder or warmer than it is actually. In general, it feels cold when the humidity is low and warm when it is high. Place a thermometer and hygrometer to "visualize" the indoor environment, refrain from using wasteful heating, and conversely, be careful of poor physical condition due to cooling.
Let's try to keep the heat away from the window.
- Use of insulation sheets for windows
- In winter, about 50% of the warm air of the whole house flows out of windows. Use heat insulation sheets or thick curtains to keep heat from the window.
Let's devise ways not to rely too much on heating with "tools" and "small items".
- Effectively utilize hot-water bags, long-haired slippers, cushions, etc.
Warm style tips "food"
Let's warm your body and room with a pot
- The humidification effect of steam from the pot increases the perceived temperature further.
Generally, when the humidity increases, the perceived temperature rises, so by placing a pot filled with hot water as well as a pot or placing a kettle on a stove to boil the hot water, even if it is suppressed, it will be less likely to feel cold. - We also focus on ingredients that warm the body, such as seasonal winter, root vegetables, and ginger.
Winter seasonal ingredients, root vegetables, especially ginger, etc., have the effect of warming the body from the inside.
By choosing ingredients, locally grown and consumed can also reduce CO2 emissions related to distribution.
In addition, it is important not to waste food, such as making the surplus ingredients in the refrigerator a pot.
