Seya Ward's Disaster Medical System (Overview)
Due to the revision of "disaster preparedness plan in Yokohama City" in March 2013, five local medical aid center locations in the ward were abolished, and medical institutions capable of medical treatment without the impact of disasters will continue to provide medical treatment. In addition to providing medical treatment for mildly ill patients, the Seya Ward Holiday Emergency clinics will serve as a base for organizing medical rescue squads with doctors, nurses and pharmacists. Medical rescue squads provide on-site medical care to evacuation sites, such as evacuation shelter, 15 locations in the ward, according to damage situation.
About the system of the ward office immediately after the disaster
In the event of an earthquake with a seismic intensity of 5 or more in Yokohama, Seya Ward will establish a medical coordination team at Seya Ward disaster headquarters.
Under the advice of a disaster medical advisor (doctor), the Medical Coordination Group collects and disseminates information on medical resources, procures medical equipment and materials, coordinates support from other cities, and coordinates communication with emergency patients clinics on holidays.
