Composting business at elementary schools

In Seya Ward, which is also the venue for the GREEN x EXPO 2027 (2027 International Horticultural Expo), we worked with two elementary schools in Seya Elementary School and Seya Daini Elementary School to compost kitchen garbage using bag-type compost.
"How can I make compost from kitchen garbage?" I have learned a variety of knowledge about decarbonization while actually experiencing such things as "What is the compost when kitchen garbage is decomposed?"

At Seya Elementary School, about 120 third-year students used the time of the class called "Seya Time" to make compost with compost.
To make compost, we used school lunch cooking residues (vegetable skins and bread). In the compost bag, kitchen garbage looked into compost.
Seeing and changing ... The children were curious about the situation.
Through these activities, children learned how reducing the kitchen garbage is effective against global warming, and in addition to composting efforts, they worked on environmental issues such as collecting garbage in front of Seya Station.

To convey what I learned through compost activities, elementary school studenｔ at Seya Elementary School created posters for each class. The posters were exhibited at marche in the district, and were viewed by parents and others.

At Seya Daini Elementary School, we made compost using kitchen garbage from school lunch with the goal of using compost in school vegetable gardens.
When confirming the completion of the compost, when I opened the bag-shaped compost, a fluffy compost without kitchen garbage was completed!

At Seya Daini Elementary School, I recorded how many g of kitchen garbage was put in my bag on paper every time, so that I could see how much garbage was reduced. In addition, in place of presentation in elementary school and junior high school block in ward, we announced approach of compost using video.

Through the efforts of Seya Elementary School and Seya Daini Elementary School, we were able to reduce the total of kitchen garbage from school lunch by 212 kg!
