Last updated on January 15, 2025.
In order to protect pets in the event of a disaster, it is important to be prepared on a daily basis.
In addition, storms and floods such as typhoons can be predicted in advance, so evacuation plans can be set up in advance.
Let's consider pet disaster prevention together with the "My Timeline" for evacuation.
The owner must be prepared
Disaster prevention measures at home
In order to protect your pet in the event of a disaster, it is important that the owner is safe first.
Fix furniture and cages to prevent falls and falls.
Don't let your pet get lost
In the event of a disaster, the owner and pet may be separated.
Wear a lost tag or microchip for your pet and a dog's license tag and rabies vaccination vote for dogs.
Discipline
Get your pet used to carrying bags and cages to safely evacuate people and pets.
Dogs should be trained in basic discipline, such as "come" and "mate," so that their owners can control the dog.
Health management
In refuge, there is a lot of contact with other animals. Let's remove Vaccinations and fleas and ticks regularly so that pets do not get sick. If you don't have a plan to breed, let's have a sterile castration operation.
Preparing pet stockpiles
Food and water (at least 7 days), tableware, medicine, etc.
Collars, leads, toilet supplies, pet information cards, etc.
Cleaning tools, carry bags, cages
Securing places to keep pets
For pets, shelters are stressful. Let's find a safe place to deposit.
