The history and origin of the town name / Katsuradai 1-chome to 2-chome
Hen history / origin
A town newly established from each part of Ondacho and Kamoshidacho with the enforcement of the land readjustment project in 1982. In the old days, it was Onda Village, Tsuzuki County. When the municipal system was enforced in 1889, it merged with Nara Village and Nagatsuda Village to become Tana Village Oaza Onda, and became Ondacho when transferred to Yokohama City in 1939. Transferred from Midori Ward following the reorganization of administrative districts in 1994. The name of the town is "This area is a relatively small, gentle plateau with excellent views, blessed with nature, and a tasteful land of the four seasons." The word "Katsura" was taken as a tree used for the appearance of expressing it, and it was named "Katsuradai".
