Cancer screening

Lung cancer group screening that we carried out in ward office was finished at the end of 2023. From 2024, please consult a medical institution in the same way as other cancer screenings.
We perform lung, stomach, uterus, breast, colorectal cancer health check-up, prostate cancer health check-up (PSA test) at a nearby cancer screening (designated) medical institution.

[Notes]
- All reservation is required. Please contact a medical institution directly.
- We do not carry out sputum tests.
- Lung cancer health check-up, prostate cancer health check-up and colorectal cancer health check-up are available once a year, and stomach cancer health check-up, uterine cancer health check-up and breast cancer health check-up are available once every two years.

2 Those who need prior procedures at the ward office
For those who are exempt from municipal tax and prefectural tax of the previous year in the year to which the consultation day belongs, or those who have only a per capita rate municipal tax and prefectural tax.
If you bring the “health check-up Consultant Exemption Confirmation Form” issued by the ward office to a medical institution, you can receive a free consultation.
How to apply for “Confirmation Form for Exemption from health check-up Patients Burden”
（１） Please bring your driver's license, My Number Card and other photo identification documents in advance to Health Promotion Section on the 3rd floor of the Asahi Ward Office. Please note that can exempt the expense after having received health check-up.
（２） Please fill out the application form and present your identity verification documents.
（３） The staff will confirm that the cost exemption is applicable, and will give you a “Confirmation Form for Exemption from health check-up Patients”.
※ When we receive cancer screening in 2024, municipal tax, prefectural tax of 2023 is targeted.
※ For those who are subject to municipal tax and prefectural tax for the relevant year in municipalities other than Yokohama City due to transfer from outside the city, the taxation status cannot be confirmed at the Asahi Ward Office. Please bring a tax certificate / tax exemption certificate issued by the taxed local government.

※ In fiscal 2024, colorectal cancer health check-up is free of charge, so there is no need to apply for the “health check-up Patient Exemption Confirmation Form”.
