Self-Defense Fire Service Organizations are installed at schools, hospitals, department stores, etc. based on the Fire Services Act to ensure the safety of users and others by smoothly carrying out initial-stage fire-fighting techniques. activities and evacuation during disasters such as fires and earthquakes.
In addition, the Yokohama City Fire Prevention Ordinance requires that a self-defense fire brigade with the personnel and equipment necessary for self-defense firefighting activities be organized and necessary training be conducted for objects of a certain scale.
Unlike a private home, a business establishment is a facility where a large number of people gather and enter and exit, so once a disaster occurs, it is likely to become a large-scale disaster with a danger of human life and may have a significant social impact. There is.
For this reason, not only the defense of self-facility, but also the cooperation with the adjacent self-defense fire department (unit) organization has become a great force for regional disaster prevention.
Every year around October, in Fire Academy, Yokohama, self-defense fire brigades from representatives of each ward gather to compete for daily training results.
