Asahi Ward is located in the western part of Yokohama City and is the headwater area of Katabira River and its tributaries. The hills have good residential areas and large-scale housing complex, with a population of about 240,000, the sixth largest population in the city.
The attraction of the ward is that it is blessed with a natural environment such as water and greenery. There are many parks and green spaces, such as the Yokohama Zoo (ZOORASIA), Children's Nature Park, Citizens' Forests, and Fureai Forests. It is characterized by many parks and green spaces, which are popular among residents asKatabira River. In addition to the main office in the ward, Asahi fire department has a branch office in Sachigaoka, Miyakooka, Minamihonjyuku, Wakabadai, Ichizawa and Imajuku fire departments, and 31 fire trucks and about 220 employees are involved in fire and disaster prevention operations in the ward.
