Ten years have passed since the installation of residential fire alarm became mandatory in June 2011. It is said that the life of batteries and equipment in the residential fire alarm is about 10 years, and the residential fire alarm installed in your home will be replaced. In the event of an emergency, replace an alarm that has passed 10 years so that it can operate normally, or an alarm that has been abnormal as a result of the inspection with a new one.
What is the residential fire alarm?

In order to promote the spread of residential fire alarm, Nishi fire department will provide a free loan of residential fire alarm in cooperation with the West Fire Prevention Association.
Those who live in Nishi Ward and do not have a residential fire alarm (excluding new construction) and meet any of the following conditions:
（１） Those who live alone over 65 years old
（２） Households only for those aged 75 and over
We will start accepting applications from June 1, 2021. If you wish, please come by phone or directly to the Nishi fire department General Affairs and Prevention Section.

When conducting fire drills (voluntary training) on specified fire protection objects, etc., it is necessary to notify the fire department that the training will be conducted before conducting the training.
The details and frequency of the training and the method of prior notification are as follows.
If you would like training for firefighters to attend, please contact Nishi fire department Prevention Section (045-313-0119).

<Contents of training>

• Fire extinguishing training: Training at initial-stage fire-fighting techniques. on how to use fire extinguisher and indoor fire hydrants
• evacuation drill: Training to let people around you know the fire and do evacuation guidance
• Reporting training: Training to notify the fire department when a fire is found or rescue is necessary (training to actually make a 119 call cannot be carried out without the presence of firefighters)

<Number of training>

• Specified fire protection target: Fire drills and evacuation drill at least twice a year
• Non-specified fire protection target: More than the number of times specified in the fire plan

<Method of reporting>
Training reports are also accepted by telephone or fax in addition to submitting them on paper.

The information required for reporting is as follows.

• Address, a fire protection target for training
• Names of fire prevention objects, tenants, etc. to conduct training
• Date and time of training
• Number of participants and breakdown
• Type of training
• Name and contact information of the person in charge

When using the report form at the time of reporting, please use the “Preliminary Report for fire drills, etc.” (word: 16KB). (As long as the above information is described, other reports may be used.)
