landslide Prevention Law

The Law Concerning the Promotion of Measures to Prevent the landslide in the landslide warning Area, etc., in order to protect the lives of the people from landslide, the aim is to promote software measures such as awareness of dangers in areas where landslide might be located, the establishment oflandslide evacuation systems, restrictions on certain development activities, structural regulations on buildings, and the promotion of relocation of existing houses.

What is the landslide warning area (yellow zone)?
In the event of a collapse of the steep slope, etc., it is recognized that there is a risk of harm to the lives or bodies of residents and others.
What is the landslide Special warned area (Red Zone)?
In areas where there is a risk of damage to buildings and significant harm to the lives or bodies of residents, etc. when the collapse of the steep slope occurs, permission systems for specific development activities and structural regulations of buildings are carried out.

Designated status in Yokohama City
As of September 3, 2024, landslide warning has designated 2,394 areas in Yokohama and 2,046 areas in landslide Special warned area.
