About steep slope Collapse Countermeasures Project

In order to prevent disasters caused by the collapse of the steep slope, Kanagawa Prefecture will carry out construction work to prevent the collapse of the steep slope in accordance with the Act on the Prevention of Disasters caused by the collapse of the steep slope.
<Criteria for Designation of Dangerous Areas in steep slope>
- Inclination angle of 30 degrees or more, height of 5 m or more.
- More than five houses could cause harm due to the collapse of the steep slope.
- If there is a risk of harm to public offices, schools, hospitals, inns, etc. even if there are less than 5 units.

■Please contact the Kanagawa Prefecture sediment disaster information Portal (outside site) or the Yokohama Kawasaki Flood Control Office to confirm the designated danger zone of steep slope.
<Standards for Preventing Collapse of steep slope>
- A natural cliff with an inclination angle of 30 degrees or more.
- The height must be at least 10m (* 5m) in principle.
- Damaged houses must be at least 10 houses (* 5 houses).
- The owner lends the land necessary for construction to the prefecture free of charge.
