The City of Yokohama established the Yokohama International Cooperation Center in Pacifico-yokohama, Minatomirai, to encourage international organizations and organizations that promote the internationalization of Yokohama City.
The Japan Liaison Office of the International Fund for Agriculture and Development (IFAD), one of the specialized agencies of the United Nations, was established in the Yokohama International Cooperation Center in November 2021 to hold liaison coordination with the Japanese government and awareness events for citizens of Yokohama.
On November 18, 2022, the opening ceremony of the Japan Liaison Office will be held on November 18, 2022, when Alvaro Lario, who joined the new president of IFAD in October, will be on stage.
