The Ministerial Meeting was held in Tokyo on August 24 and 25 in preparation for the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) in (Sun). Takeharu Yamanaka, Mayor of Yokohama, attended a reception hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs on August 24, attended the announcement of the TICAD 9 logo mark to be held in Yokohama from August 20 to August 22, 2022, and expressed his enthusiasm and welcome as the head of the host city for TICAD 9.
In conjunction with the reception, Yokohama City exhibited a booth to promote exchanges between Yokohama City and African countries and PR of GREEN x EXPO 2027 for ministers and others from African countries.
