Outline of the 2024 Foreign Awareness Survey Results

　The foreign population in Yokohama exceeded 120,000 at the end of May 2024. While further increase is expected, the “Yokohama Foreign Awareness Survey” was conducted with the aim of grasping the livelihood awareness and needs of foreign residents living in the city and using it as basic data for municipal administration and policy proposals. Did.
　The survey was conducted by anonymous mail, targeting 5,000 foreign residents living in the city aged 18 and over, randomly selected from the Basic Resident Register, and 1,512 responses (recovery rate: 30.2%) were obtained by mail or the Internet.
　According to the survey results, more than 70% of respondents answered that they were full of their current life, and nearly 50% of those who have not yet been engaged in local activities intend to participate in local activities. In addition, less than 40% of people know the location of evacuation shelter.
　In the future, we will further promote the acceptance and co-creation of foreign materials by addressing issues such as encouraging foreigners to be active in the region and supporting foreigners in the event of a disaster.
