Since 1988, Yokohama City has certified modern architecture, old folk house, and civil engineering heritage as Yokohama City-certified Historic buildings in order to preserve the historical landscape based on its "Guidelines for Town Development Utilizing History."
Chojyabashi Bridge, the 15th bridge, was newly certified.
