I'd like to borrow a book from the library. What should I do?

Please complete the registration procedure for the library. A library card (user number) will be issued.
If you live in Yokohama, commute to work, or go to school, you can register.
In addition, if you live in Kamakura City, Kawasaki City, Zushi City, Fujisawa City, Yamato City, Yokosuka City, Machida City, you can make a library card for wide area use.

• Visit and register.

At the library window, please present "Yokohama Municipal application form for a library card" and documents (My Number Card, Driver's License, Health Insurance Card, Student Card, etc.) that confirm your identity and your current Address.

Registration (when borrowing books for the first time)

• Register online

If you live, work, or attend school in Yokohama, you can also register online.
It will take about 3 days from application to registration. In addition, a plastic library card will not be issued, but the user number will be notified by e-mail.

• Register by mail

If you live in Yokohama and have the same Address listed in resident certificate and your current Address, you can register by mail.
You need to submit the original copy of resident certificate. It will take about 10 days after the documents are sent.
