※The following is a tour of Seven Lucky Gods Isogo, organized by the Isogo Ward Youth Instructors' Council on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
new year worshipping has set up eight courses, including Okamura Tenmangu Shrine, and departs from 5 locations in Isogo Ward Office, Negishi Sakashita Park, Shinshoji Temple, Okamura Junior High School and community hall in the western part of Okamura.
The Seven Lucky Gods of Isoko was enshrined in seven temples and shrines in Isogo Ward and Minami Ward in 1918, and at that time it was crowded with worshipers from the neighborhood. Initially, Okamura Tenmangu Shrine and Inari Shrine (buried land, Isogohama) were also in the course, but on what day they were enshrined at the current seven temples of Mt. Koya-san Shingon sect. However, in 1978, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the enforcement of the Isogo Ward System, the Isogo Ward Youth Instructors' Council, with the cooperation of temples and shrines and the Isogo Ward Physical Education Council (at that time), we created a walking route of about 9 km to preserve the history and culture, raise awareness of Furusato and maintain physical fitness and health.
