Green carpet (turf in schoolyards and gardens)
Along with schools and communities, part of the schoolyards and gardens in Izumi Ward will be grassed!
Since fiscal 2009, the Izumi Ward Office has been implementing a three-year plan to reduce the heat island phenomenon and foster healthy children. In addition, from 2012, each school has been striving for proper maintenance.
Izumi Ward's promotion of lawn conversion is the Tottori method (pot seedling method) in which pot seedlings of Tifton 419, which has strong growth and resilience, are planted at intervals of 50 cm.
