Pet measures in the event of a disaster
Last updated on June 9, 2023.
In the event of a large-scale earthquake or other disaster, it is expected that pets will be evacuated to evacuation shelter and other places.
In preparation for a sudden disaster, consider measures for important pets on a daily basis.
The owner's clarification
Attach a lost tag or microchip so that you can find it if you get lost in the confusion during a disaster.
I'll give you a dog's license tag or rabies vaccination vote.
Training of discipline and sociality
It is important to have basic discipline to evacuate safely in an emergency and not to disturb other refugees.
Get used to carry bags and cages, and discipline such as "waiting," "sitting," and "do not barking."
Health management
Let's perform rabies vaccination (dog), various vaccines, eradication of fleas and ticks on a daily basis.
Prepare emergency carry-out bags for pets
relief supplies may not arrive at once. Let's prepare at least 5 days.
Example of pet carry-out bag
- Carry bag cage
- Food and water for 5 days or more
- Tableware
- everyday medicine
- Preliminary collars and reeds (those not growing)
- Processing tools for manure
- (In the case of cats) Wash net
- Toy
- Pet card (owner's contact information, pet and owner's photo, health status, vaccination status, etc.)
We distribute pet cards at the Health Sanitation Division Environmental Sanitation Section window.
Securing deposits
Look for places to keep pets, such as relatives and friends.
