About Kohoku Ward Online Medical Consultation Research (SIB experimental project)

The number of participants in Kohoku Ward Online Medical Consultation Research has expanded, allowing anyone living in Kohoku Ward who is pregnant to register.

The Yokohama City Policy Bureau Co-Creation Promotion Division uses the Kohoku Ward as the field of social impact bonds (SIB), a new public-private partnership method. ※We will carry out experimental project.
In experimental project, we offer a service (Obstetrics and gynaecology Online and Pediatrics Online) that allows you to easily consult a specialist doctor online between the pregnancy period and the four months after childbirth, when you are particularly anxious, to verify the effectiveness of using the service to reduce the risk of mother's postpartum depression.

※SIB is a new public-private partnership system that uses private funds and know-how to implement projects (services) that need to solve social issues, and the government pays project costs and remuneration when the results are achieved. This is a performance-linked private consignment contract method.

Currently, the first 720 pregnant women living in Yokohama City (for those scheduled for child birth until October 31, 2021)
※Those who register for participation are assigned to Group A (intervention group) that can use the service randomly and Group B (control group) that cannot be used.

・Online health and medical consultation on weekdays and nights (18:00 to 22:00) (10-minute reservation system, chat, call, video call can be selected)
・Daytime midwife consultation available after childbirth (2 days a week)
・Distribution of health information before and after childbirth

From the time of registration to the time of 4 months after childbirth (September 2000-January 2004)

At the time of the three months after childbirth, the Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Questionnaire (EPDS) used for screening postpartum depression will compare the scores of Group A and Group B to verify the effects.

Kids Public Corporation (President: Naoya Hashimoto), EY Nippon Limited Liability Audit Corporation (President: Masami Katakura), Bank of Yokohama, Ltd. (President: Yasuyoshi Oya), Research Institute for Public Management and Social Strategy, Inc. (President: Ichiro Tsukamoto), and the University of Tokyo (President: Makoto Gokami) to implement the SIB Model Project.
