National Health Insurance subscribers (insured)
Except for those who are enrolled in employee health insurance at work and their dependents, and those who are receiving welfare, all those who live in the city must have Yokohama's National Health Insurance. Hmm.

- Foreigners who have legally resided for more than three months

As a general rule, those who earn less than 1.3 million yen in income for the next year (less than 1.8 million yen for persons aged 60 and over and disabled persons) and earn a living from the income of policy holder of health insurance at work are recognized as dependents. In this case, you will not be able to apply for National Health Insurance. For more information, please contact your employer or your employee health insurance office (pension office or health insurance union).
