Notification of Third-Party Acts

If you are injured by a third party (perpetrator), such as a traffic accident or injury, you can receive medical treatment with insurance (late-elderly medical system) by notification.

Notification as soon as possible

When receiving treatment using the medical system for elder senior citizens, please submit a "Notification of Injuries and Diseases Caused by Third-Party Act". . You will also need a police traffic accident certificate, so please contact the ward office Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section as soon as possible.

What is required for application

・A set of reports of injuries and illnesses caused by third-party acts
※The required documents vary depending on the situation of the accident. For more information, please contact Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section.
・Health insurance card (elderly medical care insured person card) or qualification confirmation
・Inkan (using vermilion)
・(In the case of a traffic accident) Traffic accident certificate
・Those who know the insurance company of the other party

medical expenses is borne by the perpetrator.

In principle, if a third party suffers damage from a traffic accident or the like, unless the victim is negligible, the medical expenses is responsible for the entire amount. Therefore, in the case of insurance medical treatment, the insurance (late-elderly medical system) will be temporarily reimbursed by the notification of the medical expenses that the perpetrator should bear, and the Wide Area Union will charge the other party later.

Before making an appointment

If there is a consultation between the victim and the perpetrator, the contents of the consultation will take precedence, so it may not be possible to claim the medical expenses replaced by the medical system for elder senior citizens. Please be careful.
Before the appointment, be sure to consult with your ward office Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section, and submit a copy of the appointment as soon as the appointment is completed.
