Basic Goal: Local information bases that support citizens' reading activities
Priority item 1 Library that supports citizen's reading activities
Promotion of reading activities according to regional characteristics
Specific initiatives
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Konan Ward System, as an initiative to further strengthen cooperation with Konan Ward, we will hold lectures for children and children's songs about four times a year based on our goals for promoting reading activities.
Results and Challenges
In August, we collaborated with the Konan Ward Office to create cards for elementary school students. The number of applicants exceeded the number of applicants, and it was seen that the satisfaction of the participants was high. In addition, they read picture books and introduced related books. .
In addition, from February to March, two consecutive children's song courses were held for children aged 1 to 2 and their parents, and this was also full. Even after the children's song course, they saw borrowing a lot of picture books prepared in advance, which led to the publicity of the library.
In the next fiscal year, we will continue to carry out planning projects based on the Konan Ward Reading Activity Promotion Target revised in March 2020.
Support for reading activities at home
Specific initiatives
We dispatch librarians to nursery schools in the city and hold childcare courses about four times a year. In addition, for parents and children who do not attend daycare centers, etc., we will exhibit at special events as appropriate and support reading activities.

The childcare course scheduled for May was canceled due to bad weather, but in June we sent a librarian to the childcare course at Noba Daini Nursery School. In addition, at the nursery school, a librarian's business trip talks were held three times for 2-year-olds and 3-year-olds, and each time a program that also serves as a library introduction was distributed to parents to promote library activities. Support for schools and cooperation in school education

Results and Challenges
We purchased 89 materials useful for the lives and work of each generation, 124 materials related to health and medical care, replenishment and replacement of complete classics and literature, and 121 new sets, and supported citizens' problem solving and reading activities.
Improvement of the environment for preserving materials
Specific initiatives
Based on the 50th anniversary of the constituency system, we will continue to collect local information such as photographs owned by residents of the city. In addition, we will continue our efforts to support the regular repair work of damaged books by volunteers.

In cooperation with the ward office as a 50th anniversary project of the constituency system, we promoted the collection of local photographs and local information owned by the inhabitants of the ward, and were able to introduce and provide information to citizens at the local panel exhibition. . Support for citizens' learning activities and problem solving

Results and Challenges
By March, we held more than 30 exhibitions on the theme of the history of Heisei and measures against global warming. In June, September, November, and February, history lectures were held by local history groups, and the library also provided venues and supported the recruitment procedure for participants. . In particular, the history courses held in February were almost full and were well received by participants. In the next fiscal year, we plan to continue supporting history courses for children.

Library management reflecting the opinions of citizens
Specific initiatives
We hold round-table conferences by user groups, volunteers, school officials, etc. In addition, we will grasp the voices of users through "Letters to Konan Library" and work to improve services.

The library round-table conference was held in December, and volunteers from the Konandai District Center also participated in the event, giving meaningful opinions on strengthening cooperation, etc.

Konan Library's own goals
Specific initiatives
In response to the occurrence of disasters such as earthquakes and fires, we will implement practical disaster drill and steadily carry out safety checks through periodic inspections of equipment and daily patrols.

In June, we conducted fire extinguishing equipment, stockpiles of water and food, and confirmed the evacuation route. Tours inside and outside the museum are also conducted as appropriate (at least 5 times a day).

Initiatives for this fiscal year
As a book-reading activity promotion project in the area, holding in cooperation with ward offices such as "making cards" for children, "Children's Song Association for Parents and Children", lending for teachers and staff, school support such as accepting work experiences, and talks We steadily promoted cooperation and support with volunteer activity groups such as.
In collecting materials, we worked to enhance general books that are useful for living and health promotion, and to replace children's books that have been read for a long time. In addition, as an event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the constituency system, we also actively used photographs collected at the library, such as holding panel exhibitions.
To prevent the spread of the COVID-19 infection, we stopped limiting library use and holding events during March.
Future Challenges
In order to promote reading activities in the area, we will continue to work on school support and regional cooperation with volunteer groups, strengthen cooperation with facilities in the ward, such as district centers, and enhance local materials.
