Measures against asbestos

Asbestos (asbestos) is a natural fibrous mineral. There are six types: chrysotile of serpentine (Shiraishi cotton), amphibolite-based crocidolite (blue cotton), amocyte (tea asbestos), Ann-sophylitite, Tremolitite, and Akuchino light. Due to its excellent heat resistance, abrasion resistance, and corrosion resistance, it has been widely used in building materials, electrical insulating materials, and automotive brakes. Because the fibers are extremely thin, it is known that inhaling those scattered in the air can cause health hazards such as lung cancer over many years. In Japan, it is gradually regulated, and new production and use are prohibited from September 1, 2006.
