1st Working Group in FY2017
We held a river play in Katabira River with Hamako Ayu!

On Saturday, June 24, the first working of this year was held!
This time, with the theme of "Let's learn about Katabira River together!"Katabira River
We carried out fieldwork to know, see, and think about whether it was a river! On the day
In the fine weather, everyone went into the river and learned about various Katabira River!

It was held, but this time it was a lot of working in the morning and afternoon!

Fieldwork Part 1

After explaining today's schedule at the new building of the Asahi Ward Office, all the participants participated in the lower reaches of Suidobashi, which will be the venue for demonstrations of cast nets.
Departure! I checked the fishway that was just completed this year on the way!
A wide range of people, from children to adults, participated!

Fieldwork Part 2

A survey by a staff member of the City of Yokohama, Environmental Planning Bureau Institute of Environmental Science! I will report what was collected later!

Fieldwork Part 3

Participants have a ball net and start investigating creatures!
From children to adults, everyone went into the river and looked for creatures!
In the water quality survey, five waters were arranged and the difference was confirmed!

※Results of the survey of creatures
A total of 17 ayu, including young fish and adult fish, were collected. For other organisms
9 species of fish (Koi, Oikawa, Abrahaya, Loach, Shimadojo, Hotokedojo, Kibachibu, Ayu, Numachichibu),
10 species of benthic animals (Kawanina, Monoaragai, Taiwan Shijimi, Kawarinuma shrimp, crayfish, USA
Hagro Dragonfly, Nae Yamasa (Yago), Ko golden-ringed dragonfly (Yago), American Tsuno Uzmushi, Hill friends)
It was collected.

The results of the water quality survey were as follows. While many creatures live, the water quality is surprisingly low.
I found it not beautiful.

After lunch break, we will conduct a cleanup operation in the afternoon! Clean Katabira River at the place where we conducted a biological survey in the morning
We carried out cleaning activities. At first glance, it looks beautiful, but in the river, various garbage such as wrapping of funny, DVDs, pottery, large wooden boards, etc. fell.
Never throw trash into the river!
