Railway Plan in Yokohama City

　The railway plan of Motoichi is based on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's Transport Policy Council Report No. 198 "Future Urban Railways in the Tokyo Area" (April 2016).
　Projects that contribute to the enhancement of the railway network in line with regional growth include the extension of high-speed railway line 3, the establishment of the Yokohama Ring Railway, and the use of both passengers on the Tokaido Freight Branch Line.

　In Yokohama City, toward the realization of "Enhancement of Transportation Network (Policy 36)" as advocated in "Creating a City that Supports Citizens' Life and Economic Activities (Strategy 9)" in "Yokohama Mid-Term Four-Year Plan 2022-2025" We will promote the construction of a railway network to facilitate movement and improve convenience outside the city.
　To build a railway network, we will promote commercialization study on the extension of high-speed railway line 3 (Azamino-Shinyurigaoka). In addition, based on the report of the National Transport Policy Council, etc., we will proceed with examinations for securing business feasibility of Yokohama Ring Railways.

　Regarding the extension of high-speed railway line 3 (Azamino-Shinyurigaoka), we will proceed with discussions and coordination with the government and related parties, and aim to start the business as soon as possible through procedures such as environmental impact assessment, city planning, and railway business law. I will do it.

　Regarding the establishment of the Yokohama Ring Railway (Hiyoshi-Tsurumi, Nakayama-Futamatagawa-Higashitotsuka-Kamiooka-Negishi-Motomachi-Chukagai), we will consider ways to secure business feasibility such as cooperation measures for railway maintenance and community development. I will proceed.

　Regarding the use of the Tokaido Freight Branch Line together with passengers, it is a long line that spans many local governments, and we will proceed with the study in cooperation with the "Tokaido Freight Branch Line Freight Passenger Combination Maintenance Study Council", which is composed of local governments along the line.
