District 6

Last updated on March 29, 2024.

The sixth district consists of nine Neighborhood Associations Neighborhood Association, which surrounds Negishi Forest Park (the site of the Negishi Racecourse). Before the war, horse racing was held here, and the shopping street from Yamamotocho to Minosawa was very busy.
After the war, land was requisitioned over a wide area and used as US military housing and welfare facilities. The current sixth district is mostly residential areas, and Yamamoto Elementary School is the center of local activities, but spans three elementary school districts: Tateno and Negishi.
The junior high school district spans three junior high school districts: Heiraku in Minami Ward, Nakaodai in Naka Ward, and Negishi in Isogo Ward.

Contact salon, karaoke, mahjong party, contact exchange meeting

It has been a community house attached to Yamamoto Elementary School for almost 30 years. Twice a month, about 30 people gather to do whatever they like, such as handicrafts and coloring books, eat lunch together, and have fun.
The Karaoke and Mahjong Association is held twice a month (1st and 3rd Wednesday) from 13:00 to 16:00, with about 15 people participating.
We hold exchanges six times a year by singing songs and playing games with senior elementary school student.

Minosawa child care support group

On the second Thursday of every month, we hold a local "child care salon" at Minosawa Community Care Plaza.
Preschoolers and their parents are free to gather and spend time and exchange information.
Local chief children's committee and child care supporter receive trouble and consultation about child care.
We also provide consultation twice a year by dietitians, dental hygienists, and nurses from Dermatology.
