Kaigan Dori (Kaigan Street)
Established on April 1, 1889.
A town incorporated into Yokohama City when the municipal system was enforced in 1889. In April 1871, the coast at the tip of the seaside street (currently Motohamacho) was reclaimed, and Kaigan-dori 1-chome to 5-chome was newly established. The town name was named because it is a town area facing the coast. Originally, the current area of Motohamacho was called Kaisho-dori (Kaisho-dori), but with the reclaimed land in 1871, the Kaisho-dori was newly established, so the Kaisho-dori was renamed Motohamacho. The town has character areas from 1-chome to 5-chome.
Kashiwaba (Kashiwaba)
Established on April 1, 1933.
The town was newly established from a part of Negishi-cho in 1933. In the old days, it was called Negishi-mura, Kuraki-gun, and became Negishi-cho when transferred to Yokohama City in 1901. The name of the street was written. According to the study of place names, "Kashiwa" means "slope ground."
Kasumicho (Kasumicho)
Abolished in 1935.
On July 1, 1935, when the name of Machikai-cho was rearranged, it became Akamoncho along with Shimizu-cho and was abolished.
Kamomecho
Established on July 1, 1969.
A town newly established following the landfill in Nishikicho and Toyouracho in 1969. This area has been set up as small and medium-sized enterprises gather. The name of the town was named "Kamomecho" in response to "Chidori-cho" at the request of a business group.
Kitagatacho (Kitagatacho)
Established on April 1, 1901.
A town newly established from the north of Oaza, Honmoku-mura, Kuraki-gun, when the city was transferred to Yokohama in 1901. In the old days, it was called Kitakata-mura, Kuraki-gun, and when the municipal system was enforced in 1889, it became Motomaki-mura Oaza Kitakata. With the enforcement of the street name lot number arrangement in 1933, characters 1-chome and 2-chome will be placed. It is recorded in the section "Kitakata Village" of "Shinbu Musashi topographical record" as "There is a late Konomura from Hongo Village to Kitakata." The town has character areas of 1-chome and 2-chome.
Kitanakadori
Established on April 1, 1889.
A town incorporated into Yokohama City when the municipal system was enforced in 1889. Along with the opening of Yokohama Port on June 2, 1859 (1859), Kitanakadori 2-chome to 5-chome was newly established. In April 1871, starting from the Kanagawa Prefectural Office, the characters 1-chome to 6-chome were placed. The name of the town was named because it is Nakadori parallel to the north of Honmachi. The town has character areas from 1-chome to 6-chome.
Kumoicho
Established in November 1873.
Abolished in 1928.
Kumoicho was established in the Yoshidashinden landfill. Abolished when the name of Machikai-machi was rearranged on September 1, 1928.
A part of the current Naka Ward 5-chome.
Koganecho
Established on April 1, 1889.
A town incorporated into Yokohama City when the municipal system was enforced in 1889. In the old days, it was newly established in Ota-mura, Kiraki-gun, in 1869, from 1-chome to 4-chome Koganecho. With the enforcement of the street name lot number arrangement in September 1928, Koganecho will be a part of Miharu-cho, Minamiota-cho character Maesato, and Nishinaka. The name of the town was "Golden" from "Hai Nanko" "Shimizu Arikin Ryufuchi Aritamahide (Shimizu has golden, Ryufuchi has Gyoei)". It is paired with "Shimizu-cho (disused in 1935 and goes to Akamoncho)" and "Hanabusacho". The town has character areas of 1-chome and 2-chome.
Kotobukicho (Kotobukicho)
Established on April 1, 1889.
A town incorporated into Yokohama City when the municipal system was enforced in 1889. In April 1873, the swamp of Yoshidashinden was reclaimed and newly established from 1-chome to 4-chome Kotobukicho. The name of the town was Bandai-cho, Furochou, Oginamachi, and Ogicho, and celebrated its auspiciousness. The town has character areas from 1-chome to 4-chome.
Kominato-cho
Established on April 1, 1933.
A town newly established from a part of Kitakata-cho and Honmoku-cho with the enforcement of the street name lot number arrangement in 1933. The street name was derived from the character name "Kominato". There is a record of "Kominato" in the section of "Kitakata Village" in "New Edition Musashi topographical record". The town has character areas from 1-chome to 3-chome.
