2011 Nishi Ward "Nikomachi" inhabitants questionnaire result
Introduction
Nishi Ward is a historic city that has developed as a center of commerce and culture in Yokohama since its opening of the port, but with the development of Minato Mirai 21 and the construction of urban condominiums, the population has increased by about 20% over the past 10 years.
In fiscal 2011, Nishi Ward Office conducted a questionnaire survey on residents of the Nishi Ward, Nikomachi residents, from those who are still young to those who have long lived in Nishi Ward to think about their feelings of life and connections with local communities and their needs for ward administration.
Overview of Implementation
・Survey target: 5,000 men and women aged 20 or older living in Nishi Ward (including 178 foreigners)
・Extraction method: Random sampling from Basic Resident Register and non-Japanese registration original votes
・Survey method: Questionnaire method by mail
・Response rate: 48.9% (2,445 valid respondents)
・Survey period: From November 24 to December 5, 2011
