The annual festival of Asama Shrine was held for the first time in four years, and on June 3rd (Sat), a tour of Miya portable shrine was held.
portable shrine is regarded as a vehicle of God, and the shrine-owned portable shrine is called "Miya portable shrine". It is said that portable shrine, where God rides, travels around the area, absorbs and purifies disaster and filths in the area, and listens to people's prayers for good harvest.
The day was a cruising in the rain due to the effects of the typhoon, but the bearers were able to carry the portable shrine and walk around the area, and a lively shout was flying.
There are a number of sacred wine places where the portable shrine takes a break on the route, where the local people offer food and alcohol, and I felt once again that the ancient Japanese tradition is valued.
In the afternoon, the rain rose and the blue sky was visible, and hundreds of stalls were lined up on the approach to Asama (former Tokaido), which was crowded with many people, and I realized that my usual appearance had returned.
I would like to thank Reitaisai festival for the successful efforts of the local people and many people who love Asama Shrine, and as a ward office, we will continue to work with the feeling of "Nishi Ward's history and tradition" in the future.
