It has been held since 1991 (Heisei 3), and this year marks 31 times. Junior high school students who will be responsible for the future of Sakae Ward will play a leading role, and this year's theme will be "Friends".

What is the SAKAE Young Festival?
The SAKAE Young Festival is a project that has been held since March 1991, co-hosted by the Sakae Ward Youth Instructors' Council and the Sakae Ward Office to promote healthy youth development and local exchange.
The event is hosted by the SAKAE Young Festival Executive Committee (supervised by the Sakae Ward Youth Instructor Council), where junior high school students in the city and local adults collaborate from planning to operation on the day, centering on stages and simulation shops. .
At the venue, Hongodai Station Square, many people, including station users, see it.

- 1991: The first Young Festival was held at the Sakae Ward Office. The catchphrase is "All elementary and junior high school students in Sakae Ward." In addition to the recreation games, simulation shops, handmade corners, and children's culture classroom exhibitions, there were also Ocarina concerts, fire music bands, port angels, and Hongo Junior High School brass band performances.
- 1994: The venue was moved to Hongo Junior High School.
- 1998: The venue was returned to the Sakae Ward Office and held at public hall and sports centers. From this time, junior high school students began to participate in the planning stage in earnest.
- 2002: The venue was moved to Hongodai Station and held on the theme of supporting World Cup soccer. (After that, the venue will be in front of Hongodai Station.)
- 2004: A junior high school student participated in the headquarters staff for the first time as an officer. In addition, we have begun recruiting PR posters for junior high school students.
- 2005: Yamate Gakuin Junior High School participated in the stage for the first time.
- 2006: From this time, many corporate sponsorships such as the shopping street in front of the station have been added. snow damage donation, Sakaemura, Nagano Prefecture, was sent by residents to snow damage, Sakaemura, Nagano Prefecture, to Mayor Takahashi, Mayor of Sakaemura.
- 2007: A mock shop of Hongo Special Needs School participated for the first time. As a special guest, junior high school students from Michishi Village, Yamanashi Prefecture participated in the stage.
- 2009: Held the theme of "Tomo Port" as a project commemorating the 150th anniversary of the opening of Yokohama Port. "Tanemaru" also rushed to cheer.
- 2010: As special guests for the 20th anniversary, female duo "Bloom" and robot dancer "TaQno" appeared.
- 2011: Due to the influence of Great East Japan Earthquake, Jan Fest was canceled for the first time. Instead, we raised funds for the damage caused by the earthquake in Great East Japan Earthquake and Sakaemura, Nagano Prefecture.
- 2012: Sakaemura, Nagano Prefecture also participated, and the Sakaemura Product Exhibition was also a great success.
- 2013: On the same day as Jan Festival, the Sakae Ward Junior High School Ekiden Tournament was held for the first time.
- 2014: "Sakaekko Gymnastics" was performed to commemorate Sakae Ward's Safe Community Certification.
- 2015: Shodo Junior High School served as a big bird as the last performance before the integration.
- 2016: In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the constituency system, the theme was "Thanks, Connections, and Dreams".
- 2017: The event was held on the first day of the closing event commemorating the 30th anniversary of the constituency system.
- 2018: The exhibition booth at the park venue was relocated to the square. The sense of unity increased, and it was more exciting than usual.
- 2019: The theme was "Dream 2019".
- From 2020 to 2022: Cancellation due to COVID-19 infection
- 2023: Held for the first time in four years. Reduce time from 15:00 to 13:00.
- 2024: Food and drink sales resumed.
